How easy is it to make a claim?

Making a claim is easy, if you have a personal injury solicitor. All you need to do is cooperate with your solicitor while they do all the hard work for you.

What is the process for making a claim?

  • Have an initial meeting with your solicitor, so they can get the facts of your case.
  • Your solicitor will then gather more evidence; your chances of winning will be increased if you can help with this stage. They might take statements from you and other witnesses involved; and, any photos, reports and insurance documents you may have will help support your claim.
  • Your solicitor will negotiate with the other side on your behalf.
  • Your solicitor might be able to negotiate a settlement out of court.
  • If no settlement is negotiated, your solicitor will file your claim at court. They will let you know what date the court hearings will be on; you might not need to attend all of the court hearings, such as the procedural events, but they might ask you to appear on the day of the final hearing to give your evidence and answer some questions in court.
  • The court will decide whether your claim is successful.
  • If you win your case, your solicitor will make sure you get your money from the other side.

It’s that easy!
